Beginning with the 2024–2025 academic year, the nation's medical colleges—both public and private—will be graded according to the calibre of instruction they offer. In July, an agreement was made between the Quality Council of India (QCI) and the National Medical Commission (NMC) regarding the evaluation of medical institution ratings. According to Dr. Yogendra Malik, a member of the NMC's Ethics and Medical Registration Board, only government medical colleges are currently required to take part in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Malik made this announcement on Tuesday.

Fourteen Banaras Hindu University research scholars have been granted the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship. The Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, the departments of geology, chemistry, biochemistry, botany, and bioinformatics are home to the students. The researchers who have been chosen for the current PMRF cycle are: Ankita Gupta from the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, Garima Kandwal from the Department of Biochemistry, Prashasti Pandey from the Department of Botany; and Syona Tiwari from the Department of Bioinformatics. From the geology department, the researchers are Bandan Kumar, Aindabi Maitra, Kuhoo Madhav, R B Ananth, Raju Rai, and Sudipa Bhunia; and from the chemistry department, Deepika Sharma, Karmdeo Prajapati, Nikhil Srivastav, and Ritesh Tolani.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently introduced the 5G Use Case Lab, and the University of Hyderabad (UoH) is one of the three Telangana universities that was chosen to get it. 100 of these labs were introduced by PM Modi during the 7th India Mobile Congress in 2023. The "100 5G labs initiative" is responsible for the development of these labs. The university is anticipated to acquire equipment valued at roughly Rs 50 lakh as part of the 100 5G labs initiative. The university's School of Computer and Information Sciences will oversee the lab once it is up and running.
Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), declared that more than two crore students nationwide had enrolled for the commission's Academic Bank of Credits (ABC). The final results of the Combined Defence Service (1) exam have been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). On the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in, candidates who took the CDS (1) final exam can receive their UPSC CDS 1 result in 2023.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for new admission to the July 2024 academic year. Students planning to apply for the July 2024 session of online distance learning (ODL) and online programs will now have another registration deadline. The revised deadline is 15th October 2024. Previously, the registration deadline for the ODL and online programmes was 30th September 2024.
