Bangalore University Has Received NAAC's A++ Rating, A First For A Karnataka Public University

Bangalore University said Monday that it was accredited by the University Grants Commission's National Assessment and Accreditation Council with a CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of 3.75 on a four-point scale at the A++ grade in cycle IV.

The institution is the first in Karnataka's public sector to receive an exceptional rating, which it says will help it gain ultimate autonomy and national prominence. It has performed exceptionally well in NAAC-specified criteria such as curriculum aspects, teaching, learning, and evaluation; research, innovations, and extension; infrastructure and learning resources; student assistance and progression; governance leadership and management; institutional values and best practices.

In the last five years, the university has attained academic success through a variety of programmes.  It received an A rating from NAAC in the previous two cycles, with a CGPA of 3.16.

The university is also credited with launching initiatives such as a digital evaluation system, the introduction of new undergraduate and postgraduate courses, more than ten publications from each faculty, the highest research funding, many consultancy projects, a high citation index, a good number of patents, the highest support for students from marginalised communities, biodiversity conservation, and alumni contribution to development activities.

In all NAAC categories, the university performed better than 95% of the time. From May 17 to 19, a peer team from the council visited the university to examine the qualitative metric.
