Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University Organises Five-Day International Online Faculty Development Program

Dr.M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute, associated with the Faculty of Education & Academic Staff College from Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, jointly organised a five-day international online faculty development program on outcome-based education. The time frame for this educational programme is 05- 09th June. 

About the programme

The global education sector has undergone a significant transformation, its emphasis from traditional classroom teaching methods to an outcome-based teaching and learning environment. This change has been further highlighted by the recent implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, which aims to bridge the existing gap between current learning outcomes and the desired outcomes through comprehensive reforms. These reforms are intended to enhance the system's quality, equity, and integrity, starting from early childhood care and education and extending to higher education. Currently, conventional classroom setups prevail, characterized by a centred approach and fixed curricula. However, the adoption of outcome-based education signifies a transition toward student-centred classrooms, where the primary focus lies on achieving specific learning outcomes. The ongoing Faculty Development Programme aligns with this overarching objective, seeking to drive educational advancement in this direction.
