Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has partnered with “Vidya Shakti” and OpenMentor effort to educate children in Uttar Pradesh through Online lessons and virtual reality. Softsmith Infotech Private Limited's CSR effort is OpenMentor. This effort mentor to close the ‘knowledge gap’ thats has grown as a result of COVID - 19 outbreak among childrens from urban and rural communities. The classes emphasise language fundamentals as well as mathematics and science.

The concept has already been implemented in 100 villages in the Varanasi area, with Hindi-medium education offered to students in grades 6 and 8. The employment of a variety of technology has increased student retention. STEM teachers will bring VR headsets to classes so that students can 'act' on instructional knowledge and 'feel' the environment (the subject) via sensors.

Short 3D films are used to illustrate scientific and mathematical concepts. To make the visualisation sessions more memorable for students, they are made interactive through question and answer sessions.
