The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced the commencement of a postgraduate diploma degree in environmental studies beginning in July 2023. The application form and information about the new course may be found on the IGNOU admission official website, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
According to the institute, MA Environmental Studies students will be granted lateral entrance into the curriculum, which "aims to generate awareness on a wide range of environmental concerns." "There is a need for developing a knowledgeable workforce in areas such as climate change, pollution, waste management, sanitation, conservation of biological diversity, management of biological resources, forest and wildlife conservation, and sustainable development in order to address the environmental challenges induced by anthropogenic activities," the statement continued.
It went on to say that the programme would provide students with significant insights as well as the means and skills to engage in environmental assessment, offer sustainable solutions, and contribute to policies for environmental planning and sustainable development. The IGNOU recently launched new MSc programmes in physics (MSCPH), statistics (MSCAST), geography (MSCGG), and geo-informatics (MSCGI). The institution has also extended the deadline for re-registration for the July 2023 term until July 15. On the official website ignou.ac.in, candidates can re-register for online and online and distance learning (ODL) programmes. The re-registration process began on May 8, with an initial application deadline of June 15. Candidates must check in to the student portal using their username, password, and captcha code.
