The Academic Council Of Delhi University Has Approved Crucial Suggestions
Education News
In a recent development at Delhi University, the academic council adopted a set of suggestions aimed at improving students' academic experiences, albeit with some opposition from teachers' organisations.
The implementation of dual degree programmes is an important initiative approved by the council. By combining regular and open learning modes, these programmes will allow students to pursue two academic degrees at the same time. During the council meeting, however, some teachers' representatives objected to this decision.
Furthermore, the academic council approved a provision for exceptional moderation for students who face adverse circumstances that prevent them from completing their courses within the time frame specified.
During the meeting, however, the council deferred a proposal for twinning degrees with overseas universities, which provoked objections. Following member concerns, the topic will be revisited for discussion at the next meeting.
Meanwhile, the council postponed a proposal to grant twinning degrees with overseas colleges due to protests. It will be put on the agenda for the next meeting.
