The Chief Minister Of Assam Distributes Scooters To 35,770 Deserving Pupils

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, ceremoniously handed scooters to high-achieving students under the Pragyan Bharati initiative on Thursday at the Veterinary College field in Khanapara, Guwahati. The award, established in remembrance of eminent litterateur and linguist Banikanta Kakati, entered its sixth year in 2023, with 35770 students receiving bikes under the scheme.
CM Sarma emphasised the government's commitment to empowering youth through education in his speech. The project, which aimed to provide seamless facilities for students to complete their education, resulted in the delivery of scooters to those who received 60% and 75% in the 2023 higher secondary tests.
CM Sarma also paid tribute to Kakati during the occasion, recognising his enormous contributions to literature, linguistics, and cultural anthropology. According to CM Sarma, the government commemorates Kakati's legacy by aiding deserving students in furthering their education.
