Sightsavers India, a leading organisation dedicated to preventing avoidable blindness and promoting equal opportunities for people with disabilities, has announced that applications are now open for their prestigious India Fellowship Program.
Sightsavers India is inviting applications for its India Fellowship Programme. Interested and eligible candidates can apply at the official website -indiafellowshipprogram.sightsaversindia.in.
The last date to apply is 30 June 2023. Fellows will be informed whether they have been selected via email by July, and the fellowship programme will begin in August.
It is a 2-year long programme that will train ophthalmologists at some of the country's leading eye health institutes, enabling people to apply this skill in real-world scenarios.
The programme includes district posting, one-on-one clinical-surgical mentorship and participation in community-based surveys. Fellows will receive a stipend, residential facility and international exposure. To be eligible, the individual should be a post-graduate or diploma holder in ophthalmology (MS/DNB/DO) from any recognised institute/university in India, having sound knowledge of clinical ophthalmology.
Selected Sightsavers India Fellowship Programme fellows will be trained at leading eye health institutions in Delhi, Noida and Kolkata.
