Odisha Government Launches The KALIA Scholarship Scheme; Apply Before January 31

According to an official, the Odisha government launched the online registration process for students from farming families on Tuesday as part of the expanded "KALIA Scholarship" program.
The official stated that student registration will run through January 31.
In the meanwhile, the government changed the program's rules and will now award scholarships to students enrolled in technical and professional programs at private universities both inside and outside of the state.
In an effort to improve the program even more, the government changed the rules so that scholarships are now available to students who are enrolled in professional and technical programs at private universities in the state as well as outside of it. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reaffirmed the government's pledge to support kids attending professional and technical schools in order to improve the prospects for rural households.
For postgraduate courses, the scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of two years, and for PhD courses, for four years. According to an official announcement, the PhD programs must be connected to the approved post-graduate courses exclusively at state government universities. Since the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Aaugmentation Scholarship (KALIA) program's start in 2021–2022—up to 1,789 students have applied for the scholarship.
According to an official, the KALIA Scholarship seeks to support as many students as possible who come from the families of landless agricultural laborers and small and marginal farmers.
