NEET UG: Maharashtra And Tamil Nadu Have The Most Applicants: NTA

According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), Maharashtra has received the most applications for the undergraduate National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) over the last five years, but Uttar Pradesh has produced the most qualified applicants.
This year, 2.57 lakh Maharashtra students applied for the medical entrance exam, up from 2.31 lakh the previous year. In order of applicants, this is followed by the state boards of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh.
More than 20.38 lakh students took the NEET-UG exam this year, a considerable rise from 14.10 lakh in 2019. In terms of total candidates for the 2019-2023 academic year, students from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which administers Class 12 exams across the country, topped the list this year, with 5.51 lakh NEET-UG applicants.
