Kashmir and Jammu On Tuesday, the University of Jammu's foundation day, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha opened a community radio station there—the first of its type in the Union Territory. Speaking at the event, Sinha expressed happiness that, like other university projects, the community radio will significantly advance the interests of the students and the neighbourhood.

The Lt. Governor also expressed satisfaction with the university's "true spirit" implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. He added that the university's past two years have been crucial since several successful projects, like "Design Your Degree," have been launched. These will significantly alter the country's approach to education.

Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Man Ki Baat" programme, Sinha said radio may be useful for disseminating the government's policies and gathering input from stakeholders for their effective formulation. Umesh Rai, vice chancellor of Jammu University, stated that the university's radio station, 91.2 FM - Dhwani JU, is a step towards upholding its "social responsibility." The station will be administered entirely by students.
