IIT Mandi Hosts Orientation for 2024 UG Students

On August 3, the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi (IIT Mandi) held an orientation event to welcome the incoming undergraduate (UG) batch 2024. Over 500 students from throughout the country joined the class of 2024, with more than 25% of female candidates. Additionally, 21 preparatory students, 13 male and eight female, attended the orientation session
The event offered students an idea of the academic atmosphere and expectations. This faculty-mentored induction programme is intended to help students transition from school to college, improve their skills and competency, and highlight engineering's social significance. The orientation session also included essential issues such as anti-ragging, drug usage prevention, cybersecurity, gender sensitisation, and therapeutic hypnotherapy for ego strength and self-esteem.
