UGC NET December 2024 Introduces Ayurveda Biology as a New Subject

Beginning with the December 2024 session, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has implemented an additional subject of ‘Ayurveda Biology’ in the National Eligibility Test (NET). When submitting the December 2024 exam application form, applicants can enrol in the new UGC NET 2024 subject.
“Ayurveda Biology is now introduced as a subject in the UGC-NET exam. Starting December 2024, candidates can opt for this unique subject, promoting interdisciplinary knowledge and the ancient science of Ayurveda,” UGC informed via a post on “X” (Twitter).
The syllabus of the newly introduced subject is available on the official website – ugcnetonline.in
“Based on the expert committee’s recommendations, the Commission, in its 581 meeting held on 25th June, 2024, has decided to add “Ayurveda Biology” as an additional subject from December 2024 onwards to the existing list of subjects of UGC NET,” the Commission in a statement said.
UGC added Disaster Management as a new subject in June of this year. UGC administers the NET through the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA UGC NET is held twice every year, between June and December.
