IIIT-L transforms lives of underprivileged girls with premier education!

At IIIT-L, Sundays are transformed into a unique learning experience. The vast, green campus becomes a 'Masti Ki Pathshala' for about a hundred young girls from underprivileged backgrounds. Here, they delve into the world of computers and technology and gain a delightful understanding of mathematical concepts. Key to this transformation are the volunteer students from the Vidya Samriddhi Initiative. They host the girls and impart the fundamentals of computer and maths, sharing their knowledge and passion with the next generation.

These impoverished girls consider IIIT-L to be their second home. They have access to the same classrooms where IIIT students take regular weekday classes, use computer labs, and eat a lavish lunch in the campus canteen. 
 

These ladies had only seen or heard about air-conditioned classrooms, digital whiteboards, next-generation laptops, and innovative furniture, to name a few things.

The Project Vijay Samriddhi Initiative is a pioneering effort to bridge the educational division for underprivileged girls aged (11 to 18 years) by providing them with quality education. The programme offers regular classes, practical sessions and awareness campaigns. The initiative, sponsored by the Higher Education Financing Agency, has a budget of 43.90 lakh and will last three years.The project is headed by the Principal Investigator, Deepshika Aggarwal, the Co-Principal Investigator, Mary Samuel, and the assistant professor, Bindu Singh. The curriculum of the Vijay Samriddhi Initiative is designed to foster computer science and mathematics skill development. It offers comprehensive support and growth, ensuring that the girls receive a quality education that can open doors to a brighter future.
