Government Launched Skill India Digital To Transform The Skill, Education, And Entrepreneurship Landscape Of India

Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, unveiled Skill India Digital (SID) on Wednesday. This digital platform aims to synchronise and alter India's skills, education, employment, and entrepreneurial landscapes.

SID is the digital public infrastructure (DPI) for India's skilling, education, employment and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The platform's vision, which focuses on digital technology and industry 4.0 capabilities, is to make skill development more inventive, accessible and customised in its implementation. It intends to be a breakthrough in accelerating skilled talent hiring and facilitating lifelong learning and career advancement.

It will also act as a comprehensive information gateway for all government skilling and entrepreneurship initiatives. SID offers assistance in a variety of Indian languages. With Aadhaar-based eKYC, there is secure access to guarantee legitimate participation. The platform has a mobile-first approach to ensure uninterrupted learning through handheld devices. SID showcases an individual’s skills and qualifications in the form of a Digitally Verified Credential. The platform offers safe, impenetrable, and verifiable solutions thanks to technology. Users can showcase their credentials, expertise, and certifications in a digital format with an inherent degree of legitimacy with digitally verified credentials.

With the advent of digital CVs via individualised QR codes, potential employers or partners can view the candidate's portfolio with a quick scan. It will showcase their skill, qualifications, experiences and achievements.
