CBSE Launches Office in Dubai

Dubai has established the first Regional Office (RO) and Centre of Excellence (CoE) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) outside of India. This significant achievement was made possible by the collective efforts of all stakeholders, including CBSE officials, representatives from the Indian Mission in Dubai, and principals from 78 schools in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Their presence at the special orientation session on Teachers' Day was a testament to their integral role in this milestone.

The session served as a forum for discussing the new office's objectives, scope, and the promising influence it is anticipated to have on the region. The CBSE RO & CoE in Dubai, officially inaugurated on 2 July 2024 at the Consulate General of India in Dubai, UAE, is set to bring about a positive transformation in the educational landscape. This optimism is further reinforced by Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of its inauguration on 13 February 2024 during his visit to the UAE.

During the orientation, Dr. Ram Shankar, Director of CBSE RO & CoE in Dubai, provided a comprehensive overview of CBSE's mission in the region. He emphasised the board's primary objectives, which include promoting learning outcomes-based education and developing novel teaching dimensions. He emphasised that CBSE would implement a model that prioritises outcome-based learning and provides subjects at various levels to accommodate students' diverse capabilities.

In addition to introducing new skill subjects based on global educational trends, the board will advocate for art-integrated learning and health education as components of a more comprehensive educational approach.
