With 368 Students, IIT Gandhinagar Launches Its Flagship Foundation Programme

With a total of 368 students from 20 Indian states and a Union Territory, the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IIT GN) launched its flagship foundation programmes, BTech and BTech-MTech Dual Degree Programmes.

The state with the most new students is Maharashtra (81), which is followed by Gujarat (64), Telangana (51), Rajasthan (40), Andhra Pradesh (39), Madhya Pradesh (21), Uttar Pradesh (12), Karnataka (10), Kerala (10), and Delhi (8). 70 women make up the newest class of students.

The institute wants to "bring out the students from the heavily-loaded JEE competitive zone" with this programme. The institute wants to expose individuals to a range of activities that promote creativity, communication, mental acuity, and physical toughness. Candidates will receive guidance on how to practise and adopt collaboration, volunteer work in the community, interest in many forms of art, and much more.

Sessions and workshops on gender sensitization, mental health, game development workshops focusing on social entrepreneurship, organic paint making, FOSS (free and open-source software), conflict resolution (through theatre-based experience), personality reading, science experiments, calligraphy, cooking, sports, and cultural activities, among other topics, will be offered to students.
