Vishwakarma University Celebrates Vrukshabandhan

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, students and faculty at Vishwakarma University celebrated Vrukshabandhan by tying rakhis to the campus trees. The students pledged to protect the environment as its custodians.
Vice-chancellor Siddharth Jabade emphasised, 'This event symbolises our unwavering commitment to protecting the flora and fauna of our university. The university's environment and nature committee members prepared the eco-friendly rakhis that the students tied to the trees.
A university statement said, "Climate includes changes that have posed more significant challenges before the human race. The university has developed several initiatives to tackle climate change.
The organiser of event director of the student welfare association, Vaibhav Thakare, said "These rakhis, made from waste and leftover decorative materials, reflect the university's dedication to promoting sustainable practices. The use of handmade rakhis crafted by the 'Abhivyaktu Wing' of the student council was a notable aspect of the celebration, inspiring all present.
A second-year student from the Department of Travel and Tourism, Clifford Gumiresge from Zimbabwe, wrote the pledge and said, "climate change has transboundary effects. It is time for the entire human race to come together to protect the planet. We initiate the traditional lifestyle and carry the love and care for nature."
In celebration of Raksha Bandhan, the university made a lasting impression via its commitment to sustainability and environmental harmony.
