IIT Madras Secures Rs.16.5 Crore Boost for New Anatomy Lab from Power Finance Corporation

The Power Finance Corporation, a central public sector undertaking, and the Institute have funded an anatomy lab at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. A Rs.16.5 crore CSR grant was used to establish this groundbreaking facility at the Department of Medical Sciences and Technology.

The highlights of the PFC-Supported Anatomy Laboratory include:
- First-of-Its-Kind in India: The laboratory, a pioneering initiative, will provide a unique learning environment that will enable students to acquire practical experience in anatomy. This field has historically relied on more conventional methodologies, but this lab will revolutionise learning.
- Promoting Innovation: PFC believes that the country's dependency on imports will be significantly reduced, and the medical industry's self-sufficiency will be greatly enhanced, as access to this state-of-the-art lab will encourage the production of domestic products.
Prof. Mahesh Panchagnula, Dean (Alumni and Corporate Relations), IIT Madras, expressed profound gratitude to Power Finance Corporation Limited for their substantial assistance in establishing this state-of-the-art UG Anatomy laboratory in the Department of Medical Sciences and Technology. This state-of-the-art infrastructure will facilitate the development of innovative medical education and research, thereby promoting advances that will benefit society.
