Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister Of State For Education, Will Dedicate Three New Dorms At Jamia Millia Islamia

Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Education, will visit Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) on July 9 to open three newly constructed dorms. The minister will also lay the foundation stone for Jamia International Hostel during his visit on Sunday. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Hall, Sir AM Khwaja Hostel, and Dr BR Ambedkar Hostel are the names of the three new hostels. JMI vice-chancellor Najma Akhtar will preside over the event and greet the minister in the university's Mir Anis Hall.
“The program will start at 11.00 am at Mir Anis Hall, administrative block, JMI, on 9th July 2023. After his address to the audience, Dr Singh will lay the foundation stone of Jamia International Hostel and will proceed to the three newly constructed hostels for the inauguration,” the official statement read.
The education ministry had requested that the university submit a basic concept note including expenditure, student projections, and faculty numbers by the end of March. JMI was rated 128th in this year's Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings-2023, rising 32 places. According to the Ministry of Education's National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2023), Jamia Millia Islamia remained third in the university category this year as well.
