According to an official, the Madhya Pradesh government has agreed to grant Manipur's request to allow students from the northeastern state to submit papers for college admissions offline due to internet disruptions in several of the state's violence-hit areas. In a circular issued on Saturday, the MP Higher Education department directed all private and government colleges to accept Manipuri students' admission papers in an offline format, he added.
“All admissions to MP colleges are conducted online. Every year, students from Manipur are admitted to the colleges of MP, but this time around, they were facing trouble for want of internet connection after violence erupted there in the first week of May,” he said. Since May 3, Manipur has been wracked by violence between the Metei and Kuki communities. So far, almost 100 individuals have died.
