In order to deliver Joint Doctoral Programmes (JDP) at the PhD level in all areas of study, Kathmandu University and the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad will work together. During a recent visit by a group from IIT Hyderabad to Kathmandu University, decisions were made to deepen links between the two institutions.

Students who are enrolled in this degree at Kathmandu University will have the chance to spend a year at IIT Hyderabad, where they will be given financial support.

With this, the two institutes hope to establish academic and research partnerships in fields of mutual interest and strength. The students will get the chance to work in fields like science, technology, design, and cutting-edge medicine.

In order to give them experience in research, IIT Hyderabad will host 10 BTech students from Kathmandu University in their final year beginning with the August 2023 cycle. Additionally, the institute will accommodate university undergrads for a brief research internship.

The institutes will strengthen their continued cooperation in the fields of medical technology, yoga, and heritage science. There will be a faculty exchange to work cooperatively on difficulties that are common to both countries.
