IIT Roorkee’s 24th Convocation: Celebrating Excellence and Achievements

On July 28, 2024, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee hosted its 24th conference. During the event, 2,513 students from the institute—1,931 males and 582 females—received degrees in various subjects.
Debjani Ghosh, president of NASSCOM, was the Chief Guest at the conference, which was presided over by BVR Mohan Reddy, chairperson of the board of governors.
One of the most significant highlights of IIT Roorkee's 24th convocation was the substantial increase in the proportion of graduating female students. This figure rose from 18.84% in 2022 to an impressive 23.16% in 2024, a testament to IIT Roorkee's steadfast commitment to gender diversity and inclusion.
At the 24th convocation of IIT Roorkee, 1,277 undergraduates, 704 graduate students, and 442 doctoral students were awarded degrees, marking a significant academic milestone for each.
The President's Gold Medal was given to Achintya Nath, a Computer Science and Engineering B.Tech graduate, for having the best CGPA among UG candidates enrolled through JEE Advanced. Parth Sarthi Mishra, a B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate, was awarded the Director's Gold Medal for his exceptional overall performance among undergraduate candidates enrolled through JEE Advanced.
