The deadline for IIT Madras' four-year BS (Electronic Systems) degree has been extended. The programme was introduced in June, and enrollment will end on August 27. The program's criteria and skill sets are tailored to the needs of the business.

JEE is not required for this programme, unlike BTech courses. Anyone who has finished Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics is eligible to apply, regardless of age, profession, or place of residence. According to the press release, those who apply will have access to four weeks of material taught by IIT Madras staff, and the qualifying exam will be based on this material.

Quizzes, examinations, and laboratory lessons will be held in person; however, content, tutorials, doubt-clearing sessions, and assignments will be completed online. The IIT Madras campus will host the lab courses in person.

Graduates of this programme will be qualified to work in a variety of businesses by obtaining the principles and vital abilities, according to Prof. S. Anirudhan, professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Madras and programme coordinator.

Additionally, there are internship and apprenticeship options available for students with a variety of businesses, allowing them to work on actual projects. These internships can last anywhere from three to eight months and can be hybrid, offline, or in-person.
