These centres will conduct research to build cutting-edge technologies having a considerable impact not just in India but also abroad.

Critical Transitions in Complex Systems, the Centre of Excellence on Molecular Materials and Functions, Low Carbon and Lean Construction Technologies, and Healthcare and Assistive Technologies are among the 15 Centres.

The Centre created the IoE Scheme to help higher education institutions become renowned for their teaching and research. In 2019, IIT Madras was selected. With money from IoE grants, it has started a number of research projects in several sectors.

IIT Madras academic members will be able to carry out innovative initiatives, pursue ambitious research goals, and entice top talent to work on cutting-edge research themes thanks to the financial support provided by IoE.
