IIT Hyderabad Holds 12th Convocation; 980 Degrees Awarded

The 12th convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, was recently held. 966 students received 980 degrees, including 309 undergraduate degrees, 561 postgraduate degrees, and 110 PhDs. Students were also awarded four gold medals and 38 silver medals. It was the most graduates in a single year at IIT Hyderabad and possibly at any second-generation IIT.
Under the dual degree conversion project, eight students received BTech and MTech degrees. Three students received MTech and PhD degrees through the direct BTech to PhD curriculum, and three students received MTech and PhD degrees through the dual degree conversion scheme.
Two BTech students, one MTech student, and one MA (Development Studies) student got gold awards. Eleven BTech students, one BDes student, three MSc students, twenty MTech students, one MA student, and two MDes students received silver medals.
The first class of BTech in Artificial Intelligence and Bachelor in Design graduates this year, as do the first set of online MTech graduates. The event's keynote speaker was S Somanath, Secretary of Space and Chairperson of ISRO and the Space Commission.
