Campus News
In an effort to provide flexibility in higher education, IIT Bombay has seen fifteen students choose the early leave option introduced last year. Through this option, students who are unable to finish the four-year BTech degree programme can exit with honour and receive a speciality BSc degree.
FLEXIBILITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION UNDER NEP Professor S. Sudarshan, deputy director of IIT Bombay, discussed the NEP's effects on higher education during a press conference honouring 'Three Years of the National Education Policy 2020'.
The strategy has made it possible for students to choose from a wide variety of electives from many fields as well as core courses, giving them additional course flexibility. The NEP has also promoted the creation of new academic fields outside the box, including the School of Management and School for Entrepreneurship at IIT.
