IISER Bhopal 10th Convocation: 378 Graduates Get Degrees

Today was the 10th convocation of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal). A total of 378 students got degrees in various areas, including 269 male and 109 female applicants.

Vatsalya Sharan, BS-MS, Department of Physics, received the President's Gold Medal 2023 for the Best Academic Performance across all disciplines, while Padmanav Baruah, BS-MS, Department of Biological Sciences, received the Director's Gold Medal for outstanding all-round achievement and leadership across all disciplines of the BS-MS dual degree.

There are 268 BS-MS dual degree students, 67 PhD, 36 BA, and 7 MS students among the 378 graduating students. Deepak Dhar, professor Emeritus and NASI senior Scientist at IISER Pune was the convocation's chief guest. Jyeshtharaj Bhalchandra Joshi, former director of ICT Mumbai and chairperson of the board of governors of IISER Bhopal, presided over the event in a hybrid style. The Academic Year 2022-2023 enrolled a total of 2194 students. There are 417 BS students, 1167 BS-MS students, 14 MSc students, 81 Integrated PhD students, and 515 PhD students.
