In an exciting development for Indian business education, three prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad have secured spots in the global top 100 for their MBA programs, according to the latest QS rankings released on Wednesday. The three IIMs recognised for their excellence are IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Calcutta. All of these have also been celebrated for their strong employability rankings, placing them among the top 50 globally.

The QS Global MBA and Business Master's Rankings for 2025 feature 14 full-time MBA programs from India, with three new entries showcasing the growing prominence of Indian institutions on the world stage. Stanford Graduate School of Business in the United States is leading the global rankings for the fifth consecutive year.

The QS rankings cover 58 countries and territories and evaluate the world's 340 best global MBAs alongside specialised business master's programs, including those in Management, Finance, Marketing, Business Analytics, and Supply Chain Management.

Ms Jessica Turner, CEO of QS, emphasised the importance of these rankings, stating, "They provide independent insights for career-driven students navigating the global business education landscape. By offering a detailed comparative analysis, these rankings empower prospective students to make informed choices about programs that align with their career aspirations."

Turner highlighted the growing capability of Indian institutions to cultivate leaders well-prepared to tackle today's complex business challenges. The impressive standings of IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Calcutta regarding employability and alums impact underscore India's potential to produce top-tier global talent.

However, Turner also pointed out critical areas for improvement, specifically regarding internationalisation and gender diversity. "Addressing these challenges is essential for enhancing the global competitiveness of India's leading business schools and fostering more inclusive environments that are aligned with the future of business leadership," she added.

In a notable milestone, IIM Kozhikode has made its debut in the 151-200 band, while the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad and Somaiya Vidyavihar University have been placed in the 251+ category. This further reflects the burgeoning strength of Indian business education on the global stage.
