First Janjatiya Khel Mahotsav Concludes At KIIT

The first Janjatiya Khel Mahotsav concluded with Odisha prevailing as overall champions in both the men's and women's categories. KIIT hosted the great sporting spectacle, which was a collaborative endeavour of the Ministry of Culture and the Odisha Government.

The first edition drew 5,000 tribal athletes and 1,000 officials from 26 states, with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hailing the event as "historic." He stated that the event presented a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate the tribals' athletic excellence while also promoting their cultural heritage and traditional sports on a national scale.

Karnataka finished first and Jharkhand finished second in the overall standings. Odisha won gold in both the men's and women's rugby competitions. Odisha was also the winner in both the men's and women's hockey categories. In Kabaddi, Odisha won first place in the men's category, while Karnataka won first place in the women's category. Karnataka won first position in both the men's and women's volleyball competitions. Odisha won the men's football category, while Chhattisgarh won the women's football division. Odisha won both the men's and women's categories in Kho Kho.
