Faizan Mustafa, A Former NALSAR Vice-Chancellor, Has Been Named Vice-Chancellor Of CNLU

Professor Faizan Mustafa has been named vice president of Chanakya National Law University. Before joining CNLU, Professor Mustafa was the dean and registrar of Aligarh Muslim University. He was previously the Vice President of the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) in Hyderabad. Mridula Mishra has been replaced as the new VC by Mustafa.

In addition, the professor was the founding vice-chancellor of National Law University (NLU) Odisha. He graduated from AMU with a BA (Honours) in History and a BA LLB. He then earned an LLM in criminal law and a PhD in copyright law from the same university. He received a gold medal in the LLM programme.

Professor Mustafa has also worked as the director of the law school at the Kalinga Institute of Information Technology (KIIT) and as a visiting faculty member at the Kautilya School of Public Policy. He has authored several books and has had national and international research articles published. Faizan Mustafa received the Shah Waliullah International Award from the Institute of Objective Studies in New Delhi for his article titled "Constitutionalism in Islamic Perspective." In 2014, he was also awarded the SAARC's Best Law Teacher Award.
