A web-enabled post-graduate level advanced certification programme in "Applied Petroleum Engineering & Hydrogen Energy" (PGPEH) will be launched by the Digital Skills Academy at IIT Madras in collaboration with Zemblance Hydrocarbons Private Limited.

This hybrid study combines online classes in hydrogen energy, renewable energies, and petroleum engineering. According to IIT-Madras, the programme strives to close the skills gap between participants with technical backgrounds and working professionals and industry requirements through a rigorous academic curriculum and cutting-edge research facilities.

Prof. Rajesh Nair, professor in the petroleum engineering programme and principal advisor for the IIT-M Research Park company Zemblance Hydrocarbons, oversees the programme in conjunction with the IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. For its international marketing in places like Africa, Latin America, South Asia, the USA, the UK, the Middle East, etc., Zemblance Hydrocarbons has teamed with Ed4All.

To provide a complete evaluation and qualification of participants, offline tests will be administered at venues around India. On September 5, 2023, Teachers Day, the PGPEH programme will begin.
