Several claims have lately surfaced on the internet suggesting that the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) has failed to place all students in summer internships. The current IIM batch comprises 600 students, which the institute claims is the most among the older IIMs, and the enrollment increased by 75 students this year, according to the institute. In the first three days, 490 students have already been placed by 160 companies.

"Because interview panels were unavailable during the Diwali holiday, many companies requested that it resume after the holiday." While we do not deny that job market activity is low across the board, we do not believe there is cause for concern," the official stated.

Manufacturing, retail, services, finance, medicine, product and technology organisations, FMCG, real estate, and other industries have been participating in this process through the institute.

In 2022, the institute had a 100% internship placement record, with a total of 233 offers given by consulting firms, followed by 73 offers from finance businesses.
