Students were informed via Twitter that the upcoming mock tests would be cancelled and their fees refunded by Dr Yogender Malik (member of the National Medical Commission's Ethics and Medical Registration Board).

The National Exit Test (NExT) Mock Test is cancelled by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Through a tweet stating, 'Dear Students #NEXT Mock will be cancelled and fee refunded,' Dr Yogender Malik (Member Ethics and Medical Registration Board of National Medical Commission) informed students of the same. Earlier on July 13, NMC had postponed NExT exams until further notice. The official notification issued by the NMC says, 'All the stakeholders are hereby informed that the National Exit Test (NEXT) examination is deferred on the advice of the Ministry, dated 11.07.2023, till further directions from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.'

For the NExT mock test, candidates in the General or OBC categories had to pay Rs 2,000 in application fees, whereas candidates in the SC, ST, and EWS categories had to pay Rs 1,000 in application fees. The application fee was not charged to PwBD candidates. Candidates are recommended to check the official website of NMC for future updates regarding the cancellation of the exam and the refund process.
