UGC Online Course

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notification directing universities to give bridging courses and online courses to students completing their four-year undergraduate curriculum.

An official notification by the UGC read, "For the benefit of students, UGC hereby reiterates the provision given in the 'Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate programmes'. Students who have already enrolled and are pursuing the UG programme as per Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) are eligible to pursue a 4-year undergraduate programme and the university concerned may provide bridge courses (including online courses) to enable them to transition to a 4-year UG programme. All the universities and affiliated colleges are requested to take note of the above provision."

According to the Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programmes (CCFUP), the degree will last either three or four years and provide students with several departure options. Students who finish one year in a discipline or field, including vocational and professional fields, will be eligible to acquire a UG certificate. After two years of study, a certificate of UG diploma will be awarded, followed by a Bachelor's degree after three years.

The four-year multidisciplinary Bachelor's course will provide students with the opportunity to experience the complete range of holistic and multidisciplinary education, as well as a focus on their selected major and minor.
