UGC NET 2024 Starts Today: Check Timetable and Admit Card Tips

The University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will start its retake today, August 21. The UGC NET exam was previously administered in a pen-and-paper format on June 18. Nevertheless, the Agency opted to re-administer the exam for all subjects from August 21 to September 4 following the paper release controversy. The examination will be administered in a computer-based format this time. The June session examination attracted more than 9 lakh candidates. The exam is important for determining eligibility for assistant professor posts and Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) at universities and colleges across India.
The exam, which was supposed to take place on August 26, has been postponed to August 27 due to the Janmashtami celebration. The hall ticket for today’s examination and the August 28, 29 and 30 examinations can be downloaded from the official website.
Admit cards for the other UGC NET examinations, which will take place on September 2, 3, and 4, will be released later.
Exam-day guidelines:
- Candidates must arrive 2 hours before the exam to ensure proper frisking and complete the registration process. Security checking will cease 30 minutes before the start of the exam.
- Students must take their seats as soon as the examination halls are opened so they don’t miss any instructions given by the invigilator.
- Aspirants must find and sit in the seats allotted to them. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of candidature or any other disciplinary action.
- Candidates must show a printed copy of the admit card when verification is required; cooperation is expected.
- No retest will be held for any candidate who fails to be present on the examination day allocated.
Candidates appearing for UGC NET must bring the following documents on the day of the exam:
- Admit card and self-declaration:
- A copy of the admit card and a completed Self Declaration form should be downloaded from the NTA website and printed on A4-sized paper. A soft copy will only be entertained if it is entertained.
- Transparent ballpoint pen
- Extra passport-sized photograph to be affixed to the Attendance Sheet
- Identification proof: A valid ID for identity verification
- Passport-size photograph of the candidate (as uploaded on the application form)
- PwD certificate as issued by the authority,
How do you download the UGC NET Admit Card 2024?
Step1. Go to the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in
Step2. Open the admit card download link for your exam day.
Step3. Enter your application number and date of birth.
Step4. Submit and download the UGC NET hall ticket.
Step 5. Notably, the UGC NET exam scheduled for August 26 has been postponed to August 27 due to Janmashtami celebrations.
Step6. The exam will end on September 4.
