The NSS at IIT Delhi releases a Volunteer smartphone app internally
Education News
National Service Scheme's (NSS) novel initiative: a mobile app named 'NSS IIT Delhi,' aimed at improving youth involvement and boosting social impact. Aspiring NSS volunteers at the university may register, find nearby projects, keep track of their service hours, and interact with other volunteers using this app—all made possible by an intuitive platform.
The Institute's NSS network experienced repercussions following the App's debut. With a 4.9-star rating on Google Play and a 5-star rating in the App Store, hundreds of registrations poured in within days, creating a colourful digital map of willing volunteers.
The story of the NSS App wouldn't be complete without acknowledging the countless hours that poured from the passionate hearts of its young tech team. "We wanted something simple, accessible, and engaging," says Abhishek, a student programmer who led the app's development. "Something that would resonate with our generation and make volunteering an effortless act of kindness."
About the NSS IIT Delhi App
The app includes a campus map with real-time monitoring and phone numbers for all the key contacts, including the Institute's ambulance, hospital, and security control room. But that's not all—hold on. Fun hangouts like Rajdhani, night messes, and other outlets at IIT Delhi have also been made possible by the app. With the IIT Delhi NSS App, India's youth are mobilising with a single tap of a finger, demonstrating the ability of technology to magnify social good.
