Education News
The Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) Curriculum Regulations 2023 were published on Tuesday by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The rules become operative on August 1st.
According to the legislation, colleges must set up the admissions timetable and procedure so that starting with the academic year 2024–25, the first professional year will begin by August 1 of each year. After August 30, there won't be any more admissions for any academic session. Institutions that admit students after the aforementioned dates risk NMC-mandated sanctions.
At the conclusion of each academic year, students will need to take university exams. They will need to take further tests if they don't pass university. After the results of the primary exam are announced, the supplementary exams and their results must be handled within three to six weeks. The purpose of this is "so that the candidates, who pass, can join the main batch for progression."
