The ISRO has provided support for cutting-edge technology to stop ragging on the university campuses in West Bengal, building on the success of the Chandrayaan Mission. According to a press release by Raj Bhavan on Thursday night, Governor CV Ananda Bose met ISRO Chairman Somanath to find the best technology to efficiently contain and eradicate the raging epidemic in the institutions.
The governor of India and chancellor of the state universities, Governor Bose, also spoke with Hyderabad-based ADRIN (Advanced Data Processing Research Institute) about the subject of ragging.
The development comes days after a first-year Jadavpur University student died after allegedly falling off a balcony at the varsity's hostel. A total of 12 people were arrested in connection with the student's death. Those arrested also include present and former students of the varsity, who played active roles in the death of the student.
