The Delhi government started an internship scheme on Sunday to encourage young people to pursue careers in forestry and the environment. The program's objective is to offer young people brief exposure and an understanding of how the various divisions of the Department of Forests and Wildlife, GNCTD, operate.

This internship website, internship.eforest.delhi.gov.in, was launched at the fourth Van Mahotsav celebration held at Delhi University's Polo Ground. Only students (aged 18 and over) who are enrolled in recognised schools, institutions, and universities are eligible for the internship training. Those having a crystal-clear Statement of Purpose for the internship will receive preference.

Candidates should be aware that only online applications will be accepted, and that they must be submitted at least three months before the intended start date, clearly stating the time period for which an internship is required. In order to apply for an internship, applicants must submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) that is no longer than 1000 words.

The official website said that applications from candidates who have already completed the internship programme in this Department will not be considered.
