New Scholarship Programs for Engineers

To mark its 25th anniversary, the Bharti Airtel Foundation, Bharti Enterprises' charitable arm, has introduced the 'Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program'.
According to the foundation's press release, this merit-based award intends to help deserving students from all socioeconomic backgrounds, concentrating on female students. The grant is open to undergraduate students studying technology-based engineering courses and students enrolled in five-year integrated programs at the top 50 NIRF universities. Another condition for the scholarship is that the candidate's family's annual income can be at most Rs 8.50 lakh.
"Starting this year with 250 students, the Program is designed to scale up incrementally with its successful implementation through each cohort. The ambition is to expand reach to 4,000 scholars with an outlay of Rs100+ cr per year as the Program reaches its peak," the foundation said.
The scholarship will pay 100% of the college expenses for the whole term of the study. Other advantages include a laptop and the cost of the hostel and mess.
