Education News
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in learning, skilling, and education on Wednesday, saying it offers enormous possibilities for the future while also acknowledging the challenges that come with technological advancements and emphasising the importance of striking the right balance. He urged the G20 nations to play a critical role in harnessing technology for the global improvement of education in a taped message played during the G20 education ministers' conference in Pune.
The G20 ministers will formally adopt the conclusion documents at the conference, which will mark the culmination of months of deliberation inside the education working group track. These outcome documents will serve as a road map for the worldwide community, directing concerted measures to ensure inclusive and high-quality education for all students.
The education working group met in Chennai, Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar, and Pune to discuss inclusive solutions and collective action to address global concerns. Their priorities were supporting research and innovation through cooperation and partnerships, inclusive and qualitative tech-enabled learning, capacity building for future work requirements, and fostering foundational literacy and numeracy.
Modi also urged that G20 countries conduct worldwide skill mapping to identify and rectify gaps. He underlined the importance of youth skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling in order to prepare them for the future and connect their competencies with emerging work profiles and practises. India is already mapping skills, and Prime Minister Modi has encouraged other G-20 countries to do the same.
