Over 2 Crore Students Registered In UGC’s Academic Bank Of Credits So Far: UGC Chairman

Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), declared that more than two crore students nationwide had enrolled for the commission's Academic Bank of Credits (ABC). The chairman was speaking today (October 26) at the Maharaja Sayajirao University Baroda, Gujarat, to the vice chancellors of the western zone. The UGC chairman addressed the conference and discussed the advancements made in putting the UGC's proposed reforms into practise.
One of the National Education Policy 2020's (NEP 2020) provisions was ABC.
Within a set timeframe, ABC will permit students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree programmes to withdraw from and re-enter the course. Additionally, it aims to enable all students to register an academic bank account with ABC so they can transfer credits towards any kind of certificate, diploma, or degree.
