Odisha To Collaborate With Education Ministry To Implement PM SHRI Scheme

In a key attempt to enhance the state's education sector, the Odisha government plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to execute the PM SHRI Schools project. The MoU is expected to be inked before the start of the school year 2024-25.
The Ministry of Education declared in an official release on X that the Odisha Government has taken a far-reaching decision to sign an MoU with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to implement the PM SHRI Scheme.
"We enthusiastically support this initiative as it reflects our collective dedication to strengthening school education and ensuring the comprehensive development of students in Odisha," the statement said.
The PM SHRI project, which is associated with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), seeks to build around 14,500 model schools across India.
The PM SHRI School programme, a government-funded scheme by the Government of India, seeks to build around 14,500 PM SHRI Schools across the country, including those operated by the Central Government, State/UT Governments, local bodies, KVS, and NVS.
As specified in the National Education Policy 2020, these schools seek to establish an inclusive learning environment in which every student feels respected and supported while also promoting a culture of engaged citizenship.
