In Uttarakhand, Researchers Are Eligible For Grants Up To Rs 15 Lakh

The Mukhya Mantri Shodh Protsahan Yojana, under which research scholars will receive a maximum award of Rs 15 lakh, was approved by the Uttarakhand Cabinet on Thursday.
On the advice of the committee that will approve the proposals, the amount may be increased to Rs 18 lakh in the case of essential research initiatives. Chief Secretary SS Sandhu informed reporters at the ensuing press briefing that the Cabinet had approved the plan at a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
He noted that regular faculty members and students at state universities, private aided colleges, and government colleges will be eligible for the programme. According to Sandhu, the grant will be paid out in three instalments via direct benefit transfer.
The Cabinet also agreed to fill gazetted and non-gazetted positions with state-born athletes who place first or second in national and international competitions.
In addition, it was decided to grant candidates who took state-run buses from their homes to the testing locations for the Uttarakhand Civil Services Commission, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Board, and the Uttarakhand Medical Services Selection Board a 50% fare discount.
