Chhattisgarh Schools Are Getting Smarter with AI
Education News
According to a top source, the Chhattisgarh Education Department is implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve school curriculum and programs such as midday meals. AI systems, a significant advancement in the Chhattisgarh education department, are now monitoring student performance, sanitation, toilet hygiene, and personnel status. This innovative approach, as stated by a state education department official, includes a geo-fenced attendance system that ensures teachers' presence in schools, thereby enhancing accountability and student safety.
Manual inspections have long been used to monitor food quality, but this method needs improvement and consistency. According to the official, AI-powered methods will be implemented to objectively assess meal quality by analysing vegetable freshness, rice texture, and oil content. The technology will also ensure uniform school ratings.
The department established the Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur, the state capital, to execute the AI system. According to the source, another key aim is to monitor student performance.
The state government's collaboration with the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai is a testament to the significant strides in the education sector. Together, they are creating software and mobile applications for monitoring schools and pupils, further enhancing the educational experience. Call centres will also be employed for this purpose.
