The University of Toronto is assuring all of its students and professors that it will continue to provide support, claiming that the situation surrounding India-Canada is changing quickly and producing uncertainty and stress. The university has developed resources for overseas students, including guidance on immigration and visa matters, academic support services, and mental health resources.
Graduate students can get assistance from their department or the school of graduate studies, while undergraduate students can contact their professors or the college registrar through the academic support services or considerations' helpdesk. Additionally, the personal support services include a mental health portal and U of T Telus Health Student Support, which offer students round-the-clock phone and chat support.
Sharing a message on the university website it said: “U of T is proud to be home to more than 2,400 international students from India who enrich our classrooms and campus life, and many more students, faculty, staff, librarians and alumni with ties to that country.”
“We want to assure all impacted members of our community – and in particular international students – that you are welcome here and we are deeply committed to supporting your wellbeing. We encourage you to make use of the resources below if you need support or have questions,” it added
