India Surpasses China as Leading Source of US International Students

According to the Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange 2024, India has emerged as the largest source of international students in the United States for the 2023-24 academic year, surpassing China for the first time in 15 years. Indian student enrollment in the US grew by 23% year-over-year, with over 330,000 students enrolled. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for new admission to the July 2024 academic year. Students planning to apply for the July 2024 session of online distance learning (ODL) and online programs will now have another registration deadline. The revised deadline is 15th October 2024.
