IIT Bhubaneswar Partners with MOSart Labs for Semiconductor Tech Diploma Courses
Campus News
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with MOSart Labs, has launched a professional diploma in semiconductor technology and chip design aimed at upskilling engineering graduates. The program focuses on various aspects of large-scale integration (VLSI), covering semiconductor technology, analogue and digital design, verification, physical design, layout, testing, and validation.
The partnership formalised through an MoU between IIT Bhubaneswar and MOSart Labs, aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands. As IIT Bhubaneswar Director, Mr. Shreepad Karmalkar, stated, the initiative aligns with the institute's mission to foster high-impact education and equip students with relevant industry skills, contributing to India's growing semiconductor ecosystem.
The diploma consists of three key modules:
-
Launchpad Module: An introductory phase covering the integrated circuit life cycle and VLSI industry landscape.
-
Foundation Module: A semester-long program with five core courses on chip design fundamentals.
-
Specialisation Module: A semester dedicated to advanced topics and hands-on projects in a specific VLSI domain.
This program, designed for electronics, electrical, and computer science engineering graduates (including working professionals), promises to provide practical, industry-oriented skills, preparing students for the booming semiconductor industry.
Mr. Krishna Kanth Avalur from MOSart Labs highlighted that the government's focus on developing India's semiconductor sector offers numerous opportunities for VLSI engineers, making this the perfect time for students to enhance their expertise and become industry-ready.
