IIM Lucknow 'Sanrakshan 2024': Shaping Tomorrow’s Sustainable Business Strategies

The Indian Institute of Management, IIM Lucknow, hosted "Sanrakshan 2024," its flagship Business Sustainability Conclave, on August 24 and 25, 2024. The two-day conclave centred around the theme "Building Resilient Businesses through Sustainability," brought together thought leaders, industry experts, and academics to address the critical challenges and opportunities in sustainable business practices.
Ansuman Patnaik, a distinguished figure in the field who served as the Director General of the Competition Commission of India, graced the conclave. A key highlight of the conclave was the 'Startup Mela,' a vibrant showcase of entrepreneurial spirit and innovation. Here, startups presented cutting-edge solutions for sustainable innovation, offering a glimpse into the promising future of sustainable business practices.
Speaking during the event, Professor Ajay Singh, Dean of IIM Lucknow Noida Campus, emphasised the crucial role that sustainability plays in fostering innovation and creating a competitive edge in today's business environment. He highlighted how sustainable practices are not just about meeting regulatory requirements or addressing environmental concerns but are increasingly becoming a key driver of innovation.
Chief Guest Ansuman Patnaik delivered a thought-provoking keynote on sustainable development. He emphasised the critical importance of responsible resource management and highlighted how judicious resource use is key to ensuring long-term environmental sustainability.
The conclave offered a dynamic platform for exploring the intersection of sustainability and business resilience. It featured thought-provoking discussions and innovative solutions across various pressing topics, including green financing, renewable energy, sustainability measurement and reporting, resilient supply chains, climate change mitigation, net-zero targets, and inclusivity in sustainable practices.
